Tagging garments so nothing gets lost in the plant

A garment that leaves the counter without a tag is a garment that depends entirely on memory once it reaches the plant, and memory does not survive a wash cycle.

The minimum a tag slip should carry is the order number, the garment colour, a short description and any special instruction — a missing button, a stain to treat, a customer request to keep starch light. Anything less and the information has to be reconstructed later, usually by someone who was not at the counter when the order was taken.

Colour, tag and item notes at the counter, and what a good tag slip should actually carry through washing and pressing.

Colour and tag data recorded once at intake means a search at any later stage is a lookup rather than a walk down the rack. It also means a dispute over a missing item can be settled with a record instead of an argument.

IN THE SOFTWARE

Every point above is a screen in the platform, not a manual process — recorded once at the counter and visible in reports without re-entry.

None of this requires new equipment. It requires the counter screen to ask for the detail at the point the order is created, and for that detail to travel with the order through every status change until delivery.
